Jack Henry O’Brien, 20, of East Stroudsburg, must pay restitution to Susquehanna University.

MIDDLEBURG – The man accused of vandalizing the “Black Lives Matter” banner at Susquehanna University earlier this year has been admitted into a special probation program.

He must pay restitution of $548 that goes to Susquehanna and perform 25 hours of community service. The university replaced the banner.on March 7 that he did not realize the nature of the banner that was hanging from an exterior wall at the Degenstein Campus Center. He, his friend and another male decided to get something to eat and while walking around the Degenstein Campus Center he attempted to forcibly remove a banner hanging from the building.
