A former middle-school teacher in Montgomery County was arrested Tuesday amid allegations she engaged in sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old student over several months in 2015, according to court documents.
Melissa Marie Curtis, now 31, turned herself in to authorities and was ordered held in jail without bond. She is expected to appear before a judge Wednesday to have the terms of her confinement reviewed. Curtis has been charged with one count of sex abuse of a minor and 14 counts of third-degree and fourth-degree sex offense.Curtis taught at Montgomery Village Middle School in 2015, police said. The 14-year-old was an 8th grader at the same school and Curtis was 22, according to court records.
