Liu had been talking with Patrick about getting in to see his physician in the Rochester area when he was home on Thanksgiving break. Patrick had expressed concern that the medicine that was supposed to lift his spirits was having the opposite effect. His mother said he had been to a psychiatrist three times this past summer for major depression.
Liu lived in Israel for a year. She frequently talked about her experiences with her son and even has a Star of David on the wall in her home, "He never mentioned anything about hating Jewish people. It’s very strange. It’s not normal Patrick.”
