On Monday, the Texas Education Agency released financial accountability ratings for the 2022-23 school year.

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Education Agency released its finalencourage public school districts to improve their financial managementLast year, 88% of schools received an 'A' rating from the TEA, up from 85% in 2021-22. The amount of schools that received a 'B' dropped from 10% to 7%, while 'C' rating schools increased from 4% to 5%.

Across Central Texas, the only school district that did not get an A rating was New Braunfels ISD, which received a C.The School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas was established in 2001 by the 77th Texas Legislature. The ratings come from annual financial reports provided to the TEA by each school system, which get reviewed by the agency before being assigned a rating.
