Damian Hinds challenged those such as London mayor Sadiq Khan who have claimed the rise in exclusions is behind the surge in knife attacks

Truancy, not exclusion, is a key reason for rising knife crime, says the Education Secretary, as he admitted efforts to reduce the number of pupils’ persistently absent from school have stalled.

Discipline starts at home

Knife crime has risen cause there ain t no respect, fear or consequences from authority. Inner city forgot. 15 year ago certain areas were no go zones around my old mannor. They have let these places rot from within & finally lost control. That's why knife crime has risen.

Truancy follows the same principle. I buncked off it was a day in Greenwich park, running away from wardens. Not stabbing. Fed up with excuses. Society is shite. Discipline has been lost because of PC nonsense. Stamp out crime & stop worrying about offending potential offenders.

What a load of rubbish. The rise in knife crime is simply down to their being no discipline amongst our younger generation, no deterrents and the fact in the main, London is a disaster of a city.

Why do you always find something against Sadiq Khan, Telegraph? Please recruit some BAME writers and editors to give a balanced view? SadiqKhan faces EXACT SAME agenda of white press as Raheem sterling7 BiasCorrect rootitout

British schooling is in a mess. Don't believe the rubbish about outstanding schools. I could tell you tales about the so-called outstanding schools where I live that would truly shock you. It's far, far, worse than Ofsted says it is! Disruption in schools is yet another symptom.
