Academic activities at Ihogbe College and Oba Akenzua Secondary School in Benin, the Edo State capital, were disrupted on Tuesday as suspected cultists invaded the premises.
Students and teachers scampered for safety as the hoodlums invaded both buildings in the school, located along ICE Road, off Wire Road in Benin.According to eyewitnesses, the suspected cultists were heading for a target in the area, when some students who are members of junior rival cult group started throwing stones at them.
Consequently, the cultists stormed the school and started inflicting injuries on any student in sight. Following the incident, heavy security was drafted to the school, and two people have been arrested in connection to the incident.
