Kristy Scarfone, a fourth-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at U of T, says more research and data collection needs to be done on northern health issues

Kristy Scarfone is a fourth-year Doctor of Pharmacy student in the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy.

“In southern Ontario we have lots of resources around community organizations that are supported by the city, that are supported by government funding or that are eligible for government funding. We have something called Toronto’s Drug Checking Service that just got access to Health Canada funding where people can bring in a bit of their substance and see if it’s actually what they’re expecting.

“Specifically what I’m hoping to do in research is to dive deeper into what specific needs exist in the north that are not met yet.”
