“Looked up, and saw the shooter actively shooting. At that point, I ran. I was navigating the kids into the building. Bumped into a couple. But was able to get around the fence and get around them. Once I got into open field I could start calling out to dispatch what I had witnessed and what I had going on,” said Gerace.They found Geiger in a Lorain home.
“You’re trained to be a resource for the school. Interact with the kids. And when you have to go police mode. You just flip it,” said Gerace.Lorain City Schools did provide the students with additional counselors Friday. “I just want to thank him. He went from fist-bumping kids to making relationships to sprinting down the street to make sure they were safe. Everybody did things the right way,” said Dr. Jeff Graham, Lorain City Schools superintendent.
