After a two-year application process, the university received the Innovation and Economic Prosperity program designation from the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, an organization of schools across North America.A plaque recognizing the designation was unveiled Friday morning during an event the the university's Centre for Advanced Studies in Engineering and Sciences building.
After conducting a survey of over 300 people at both campuses, Dean spoke of action plans over the next five years for the school. Dean noted that micro-credentials would be similar to certificates and other "short-term courses and entrepreneurial activities."
