A science teacher has been jailed for a minimum of 18 years for killing her child after the breakdown of her marriage.

A jury found Coleburn guilty on Friday at Winchester Crown Court and she was handed a life sentence today. The jury were told that Colebourn denied all memory of the incident to begin with but later recalled how Bethan agreed to have a bath in the middle of the night.Officers investigating the killing of three-year-old Bethan Colebourn Colebourn said she killed Bethan to ‘protect’ her from her father Michael, chief executive of luxury marine interior company Trimline.

A doctor described how she was ‘only emotional when discussing the fact Michael Colebourn had left her and her daughter and her father had done the same to her mother.’
