The bold plan to build a school on a $400-million bus depot | JordsBaker

Waverley Depot would become a two-storey bus park under a proposal to reclaim half the site for a new Bondi high school.

The Oxford Street side would be used to build a two-level school with a small tower, and an underground bus parking area would be created beneath the remaining half, which houses the heritage-listed sheds. The school could accommodate 1500 students, sit within council height restrictions, and use Centennial Park for extra play space in the same way the new Inner Sydney High will use Prince Alfred Park, Ms Panov said.

An architect's vision for the conversion of half of Waverley bus depot into a school. The school is the building on the left. Licia Heath from CLOSE East said choosing the school's site would be up to the government. There were many options and the architects' proposal was just one of them.
