The prtesters who were seen walking the streets of Abraka community, had demanded the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to cancel the Delta governorship election held on Saturday, March 9, describing the result as a broad day-light robbery.
One of the women who spoke to newsmen during the protest, Mrs. Margaret Okpako, said; “We Deltans all stood to vote en mass for Ogboru with the joy that he has taking over Delta, only for us to hear that the election has been rigged by the same PDP. “We want Ogboru to be the governor of Delta State that is why we embarked on this protest which is taking place now across the 25 local government areas of the state. We believe it is only Ogboru that can take us from this suffering that we have been subjected to for the past 20 years.
Also Speaking, Mrs. Christiana Samuel, said “We are protesting round the 25 local government areas, asking INEC to reverse its decision or call for fresh election because the rigging was too open to Deltans, hence we want it cancelled”.
