FOX 9's Paul Blume shares that his alma mater, Bates College, remains on lockdown from a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine. At least 18 people were killed and another 13 injured in the mass shooting Wednesday night. The suspect, Robert Card, is still at large.
Blume spent Thursday reconnecting with his Bates network, speaking to several members of the community about their feelings and experiences since the gunfire shattered the peace and quiet of Lewiston. Lewiston, the Bates campus, and surrounding areas were thrust into complete lockdown in the aftermath of the shootings. There was such confusion and panic in those hours as no one knew the location of theO’Shaughnessy and her club hockey teammates were eating a late dinner in the cafeteria when the whole building, typically open to public access, was shut down and locked up.
