Police said the employee was taken to WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital for treatment after feeling ill. Fortunately, it was determined that the substance was not harmful.

An elementary school employee was taken to a hospital after finding an unknown white substance on a Lancaster County playground Monday afternoon.

Police said the employee had noticed a white substance on the playground and felt ill after being in proximity to it. Adamstown School administration acted quickly to protect the staff and students by calling for emergency services, according to police.
