Justices issued a 4-3 decision that reinstated a wrongful death lawsuit and overturned a lower court ruling that the lawsuit was prohibited by a 2005 federal law that shields gun manufacturers from liability in most cases when their products are used in crimes.
Lanza, 20, shot his way into the locked school in Newtown on Dec. 14, 2012, and killed 20 first-graders and six educators with a Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle, similar to an AR-15. He shot his mother to death in their Newtown home beforehand, and killed himself as police arrived at the school. "The families' goal has always been to shed light on Remington's calculated and profit-driven strategy to expand the AR-15 market and court high-risk users, all at the expense of Americans' safety," Koskoff said Thursday."Today's decision is a critical step toward achieving that goal."
NBCConnecticut the gun was purchased by the mother - not the perpetrator ... this makes no sense
NBCConnecticut So they didn't get enough money from the shooter' family?
NBCConnecticut
NBCConnecticut NRA
NBCConnecticut The 2nd Amendment folks don't seem able to RTFA so I'll summarize: The lawsuit was about marketing Consider: BMW runs a 'One shot, one kill!' ad campaign saying they're the best for kills when DUI Now: How crazy does it seem that BMW is in deep when a drunk rams into a school?
NBCConnecticut What vehicle did the perp drive? What shoes did the perp wear? Why stop at the firearm manufacturer? logic
NBCConnecticut Now Ford, chevy, dodge, Toyota, etc. Will be held accountable for drunk drivers? McDonald's for fat people? Unreal!
NBCConnecticut So dumb, are we going to sue truck manufacturers for Nice, France now?
NBCConnecticut It is absolutely horrible what has happened to the families. However, this is a Pandora’s box, next will be Ford because a drunk kills a family in a truck, and on and on. I also think of the families of people Remington employ. A tragedy all around, but I think this is a loser.

NBCConnecticut Ridiculous!
NBCConnecticut Victims of illegals should also file a class transaction
NBCConnecticut Good luck winning this one. Completely Rediculous.
MSNBC NBCConnecticut Awesome! People used to say you couldn't sue Big Tobacco. It just takes one successful suit against gun manufacturers. Since the GOP are puppets for the NRA and gun makers, this is the only other route for justice.
NBCConnecticut KattyKayBBC Judicial Tyranny. Absurd that the Gun maker can be held responsible for how someone uses their gun
MSNBC NBCConnecticut If a lung cancer diagnosis allows one to sue the tobacco company. Why not sue a gun manufacturer. I like it.
NBCConnecticut KattyKayBBC Hopefully the trial will reveal that Sandy Hook is the SandyHoax and that No school children were killed
NBCConnecticut Blaming inanimate objects for the actions of humans is...
NBCConnecticut GOOD. What's wrong with just a handgun? Why do you need a semi-auto rifle? Is your salami that tiny you have to overcompensate? As for me, I have a HUGE DONG so I pack a Derringer. I pack this baby if anything.
MSNBC NBCConnecticut Excellent news!
MSNBC NBCConnecticut Wow that’s great news for the families
MSNBC NBCConnecticut I disagree.
NBCConnecticut Hope there’s some discovery on both sides.
MSNBC NBCConnecticut Good. Bankrupt them. They deserve it.
NBCConnecticut . Sooo..... If an arsonist burns down a house and kills people, stupid people and their greedy lawyers will blame the matchmaker? Matches don't kill people Knives don't kill people Guns don't kill people Mentally ill people kill people. Put the blame where it belongs. .
MSNBC NBCConnecticut Cool, the next time I get a flat tire I'm sueing GoodYear
NBCConnecticut Nice, now I can finally sue McDonalds, all car manufacturers and alcohol companies as well as the federal government.
NBCConnecticut So now when someone kills another person in a DUI Crash, the courts can allow lawsuits against the alcohol manufacturers depending on the alcoholic beverage the criminal was drinking, or when someone uses a car to kill another, they can sue the automaker! S. T. U. P. I. D.
NBCConnecticut BRAVO. Then, of course, there's their other suit against Alex Jones, also allowed to go forth. It's about time some of these assholes are held accountable. Did I say BRAVO? 😇😋😜
NBCConnecticut You hear that, fat people? Time to start suing the forks!
NBCConnecticut Just another pathetic Court ruling
NBCConnecticut Good. Sue the hell out of those bastards. I hope they win. Don't like that statement? Too bad. I'll enjoy blocking more guntards.
