Kerry Dale, a former teacher at Glenburn Sports College was jailed after a trial at Preston Crown Court

A woman who was a victim of a paedophile teacher said her life is ruined and she continues to suffer panic attacks and nightmares over 20 years on.

Dale was eventually brought to court due to the bravery of her victim. And the victim, whose identity is protected under the Sexual Offences Act, told the ECHO Dale "ruined her life". A friend, who spoke on the victim's behalf and who originally tipped the ECHO off to the historic case, said: "She just wanted her justice.

She added: "She continues to suffer flashbacks and nightmares from her teenage years. She has been on the edge since suffering really bad anxiety and PTSD from the trauma it caused. Lancashire Constabulary confirmed to the ECHO Dale was convicted of three counts of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16 years and two counts of inciting a girl under 16 years to commit an act of gross indecency. As well as her jail sentence, Dale was placed on the sex offenders' register for life.
