Thursday confirming an NCAA investigation into possible sign-stealing violations by the University of Michigan football team.Late Wednesday afternoon, the Big Ten Conference and University of Michigan were notified by the NCAA that the NCAA was investigating allegations of sign stealing by the University of Michigan football program. The Big Ten Conference has notified Michigan State University and future opponents.

2023 season for recruiting violationsThe NCAA does not have rules specifically against stealing signs, according to the Associated Press, but it does prohibit in-person advanced scouting of opponents and using electronic equipment to record an opponents' signals. It also has bylaws prohibiting unsportsmanlike or unethical activities.
