Residents at Holybank Nursing Home and pupils at Cams Lane Primary School were told to remain inside

There was chaos on a street in Radcliffe on Monday morning after residents were forced to evacuate their homes due to a gas leak.

A Higher Dean Street resident said he went out to his car at around 11am and was immediately hit by a “massive smell of gas”.

“We are in the process of reoccupying homes. This has been a great, speedy response by several agencies, to keep everyone safe.
