Charities. The University of Texas at Austin freshman quarterback Arch Manning is making headlines on Tuesday and it's not because of his great throwing arm.
The nephew of football greats Peyton and Eli Manning showed how much he cares about helping children.Arch joined St. David's Healthcare to announce the proceeds from the sale of his first 1-of-1 Prizm Black autographed Panini America trading card totaling $102,500 will be donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas.
"When I first partnered with Panini to auction off my trading card, I wanted the money to go to a good cause. Helping children live healthy and fulfilling lives is important to me and my family. With that being said, I’m donating 100% of the proceeds from my trading card to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas," Manning said during a press conference at St. David's North Austin Medical Center.
Ronald McDonald House is currently turning away six of every 10 families who want to stay near a sick child who is being treated at the hospital. Donations like this one will help the charity keep up with the growing demand for housing near Dell Children's.
