by KATU StaffHit-and-run suspect dies in second crash on October 12, 2023 A driver accused of hitting and injuring a child who was waiting for a school bus in Oregon Thursday morning died moments later in a second head-on collision with another driver.said they responded around 8 a.m. to reports of a hit-and-run crash involving children waiting for a school bus in Clackamas.
Officials said the child had been hit on the sidewalk. An older sibling pulled the child out from in front of the vehicle’s path, “but not before the child’s feet were run over,” deputies said.Moments later, there was a separate head-on crash about a mile away. Deputies learned it involved a Kia Spectra that matched the hit-and-run suspect’s vehicle.
The driver of the Kia, 24-year-old Ilya Ilech Bosovik of Clackamas, was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.Investigators said they suspect Bosovik may have been under the influence.
