KUALA LUMPUR: A number of taxation reform measures will be implemented next year to expand the country's revenue base and at the same time not burden the majority of the people.

MELAKA: A Form Four student has drowned while trying to save his classmate at Pantai Mutiara near the Terendak Army Camp here.

Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit said Faris Darwisy Mohd Faizal, 16, a student of SMK Kem Terendak, tried to save another student but was swept away by strong undercurrents. He said the victim was on a beach outing with 14 classmates and two teachers when the incident occurred at about 6pm on Friday .

Melaka Fire and Rescue Department's public relations officer Senior Superintendent Mohd Hafidzatullah said a distress call was made at 6.30pm.He added that the body was discovered at the seabed at 9.25pm on Friday.
