Former President Donald Trump’s decision to call Hezbollah “very smart” drew most of the headlines from his speech Wednesday night, but that wasn’t the only controversial thing Trump had to say.

As Israel still counts the civilians murdered by Hamas, Trump attacked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for allegedly not helping Trump’s strike against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force Commander Qassem Soleimani.“We did it, but I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down. That was a very terrible thing,” Trump said Wednesday night. “We did the job ourself , and it was absolute precision — magnificent, beautiful job. And then Bibi tried to take credit for it.

Trump later told Brian Kilmeade, “ has been hurt very badly because of what’s happened here. He was not prepared. He was not prepared, and Israel was not prepared.” There undoubtedly was an intelligence failure last week, and eventually, Netanyahu will be held to account.Because Netanyahu committed the crime of acknowledging President Joe Biden won the 2020 election.“The first person who congratulated was Bibi Netanyahu, the man that I did more for than any other person I dealt with,” Trump told Barak Ravid. “The first person who congratulated Joe Biden — because this was an election in dispute — it’s still in dispute. … Bibi could have stayed quiet.

One can attack Netanyahu for failing to prevent the Hamas terrorist attack. But not right now. And not because Netanyahu had the common sense to recognize who won the 2020 election.
