The stabbing was reported just before 2 p.m. on Oct. 5 at Marie L. Greenwood Early – 8 in the Montbello neighborhood, according to the Denver Police.
The victim, also a student, was stabbed inside the school and the suspect was quickly taken into custody by responding officers.Due to their age, their name is not being released. A spokesperson for Denver Public Schools said the school was placed on lockdown, where all interior and exterior doors are locked, for about three minutes after the stabbing. It was then placed on a hold, which is the same as a lockdown except the students don't have to stay out of sight. That lasted for about an hour until the students were released to their parents.
