However, Education Scotland said the review of Lincluden Primary took place during a period of “significant change” and a new headteacher and staff are “working well” to make improvements.
The report stated: “Planning in most lessons does not meet the needs of all children and, as a result, a minority of learners are disengaged with learning.” It stated: “There has been a significant change to the structure of the senior leadership team in recent years. This has impacted on the school’s capacity to take forward key school improvements. A new headteacher took up post in May 2023, just prior to the inspection.”
