The student was a role model and a promising youth athlete who had won several national age-group competitions, says the Singapore Sports School.

Singapore Sports School student Pranav Madhaik died on Oct 11, 2023 after a fitness trial days before. SINGAPORE: Singapore Sports School on Wednesday said that it will investigate the death of a Secondary 2 student who felt unwell after a fitness trial.

The boy was taken to the National University Hospital for medical attention and he died on Wednesday. "He was cheerful and pleasant, and always maintained a positive attitude towards his training and studies. “By the time the … doctor attended , most of his organs were already not functioning,” said Mr Verma.“And morning they said ‘Okay, he’s no more’,” Mr Verma said, adding the family is seeking answers from the school about the incident.
