Thunder Bay organizations are getting $663,500 in funding to help clean up Lake Superior and the connected waterways. One of the recipients of the funding was Robert Stewart, an associate professor at Lakehead's geography and environment department. He said the money will go toward restoring riparian zones, which are vegetation buffers along rivers, within the Thunder Bay Area of Concern.
