Man accused of writing threats of mass shooting at high school, stabbing spree at church A man from Florida is accused of writing threats to his old high school, with plans of other attacks around the state including a stabbing spree at a church.
The officer said that Horton would receive a written warning, then asked him if he would consent to a search of his car. Horton agreed. Horton had planned to kill an administrator at the school, along with 14 other people on campus, the affidavit reads. He intended to see his attack through on his 22nd birthday — Jan. 2, 2026. When asked why he would do something like this, Horton told detectives, "for attention or fame."
When investigators asked Horton why he intended to go to the church he responded, "I guess I just don’t like religion."
