The Prince and Princess of Wales have now been married for over 12 years but their relationship did not always run as smoothly in the early days of their romance.
Thankfully, their break-up turned out to be short-lived and three years later, Prince William got down on one knee and asked Kate to marry him, the Mirror reports. The royal explained: "Her and her family, I really want to make sure that they have the best, sort of, guidance and chance to see what life has been like - or what life is like - in the family.
"It was just sort of a bit of space and a bit of things like that, and it worked out for the better." Several months after the interview they tied the knot in a huge fairy tale ceremony at Westminster Abbey and are now parents to their three kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
