The University of Glasgow has been evacuated after a ‘suspicious package’ was found on campus.
A number of buildings on the university campus were emptied following reports the package was sent into the university’s mail room. Lilli Schlossbach posted a video to Twitter that showed police cordons in place and cars blocking off streets leading towards university buildings.Police are in attendance at the scene and University Avenue, between Byres Road and Kelvin Way, has been cordoned off.
The Boyd Orr Building, the mailroom, the Officer Training Corps, Wolfson Medical Building, Bower Building, Isabella Elder Building, James McCune Smith Learning Hub site and the Joseph Black Building have all been closed. The university tweeted: ‘Under advice from Police Scotland, a number of buildings on the main University campus have been evacuated as a precautionary measure after a suspicious package was found in the University’s mailroom.’Glasgow university : now lots of building are shut off and the fair is off, because of a ‘dodgy package arriving’ ?
