At a special meeting Friday , the Orange Board of Education approved two resolutions of “urgent necessity” so that these projects can move forward.
“We’re asking for not-to-exceed amounts because , we’re still uncovering concealed conditions,” he said. “We are definitely addressing the issue,” Roseberry said. “We noticed when we took the kitchen window out, whoever installed those windows, the flashing should go out, but the flashing came in.” In regard to the generator at Brady Middle School, the board learned from Roseberry in late August that when the district lost power due to the storms that occurred Aug. 24-25, the generators at Orange High School and Moreland Hills Elementary School worked continuously, as expected, but the one at Brady “failed completely,” he said.He said the cost of the new generator alone is estimated at $80,000.
Roseberry told the board Tuesday that the maintenance facility on the Orange Schools campus currently has three natural gas boilers. Two are Bryan flexible tube boilers and one is a Fulton Pulse boiler, according to the contract.
