Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says the department has established policies to address the issue of unusual behaviour in schools.

Motshekga has called on parents to join the department in finding solutions for these social issues that are occurring at schools.

Motshekga briefed the media today and says our duty as society is to support pupils and to help remove all distractions. “We also thought we should update the public about what we think has become a trend of what we regard unusual behaviour in schools, especially in provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Gauteng where there have been increasingly reports of unusual behaviour among learners leading to highly emotional outburst and physical harmful practices.
