Prince William visits BEST charity on Sept. 29, 2023.The Prince of Wales, 41, met a young woman whose father set up a charity after he saw how she, and others, could be supported with more positive experiences and mentoring.in Swindon, 80 miles west of London, where he met Jess and Don Brydon. Don started the charity after intervening to help Jess, 18, after she'd become exposed to criminal exploitation.
"When [Don] found an outlet for [Jess] in boxing, he saw the positive reinforcement boxing brought to her life and he wanted to be able to offer it to more young people at risk," the organization's website states. Prince William met Jess and others who have been helped by BEST and spoke to the volunteers and staff about the programs they deliver and the positive impact it has on children in the local community. The organization offers personalized mentoring for children and young adults between the ages of 11 and 25.
Jess entered the boxing ring with her mentor, Paul, for a sparring session — however, Prince William declined an offer to join them.
