RCMP were called around 7 a.m. on Sept. 26 after reports of a collision between a car and a school bus on Route 114. No injuries were reported. On the scene, police learned that three suspects had fled, however, officers determined the vehicle was reported stolen from Moncton earlier in the morning. Police dogs were able to locate the suspects nearby, arresting 20-year-old Ryan Linfield and two 15-year-olds without further incident and seizing firearm parts and ammunition from within the vehicle in the process.
Linfield appeared in Moncton provincial court by telephone on Sept. 26 and was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and was released from custody. He is scheduled to appear in Moncton provincial court on Nov. 7.The other 15-year-old youth appeared in court on Sept. 28 and was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and failure to comply with a release order. He was released from custody on orders to return to court on Oct. 4.
