On Tuesday morning, Gauteng education MEC Panyaza Lesufi expressed his and his department’s disgust at allegations that three male learners had raped a Grade 8 girl when they were at a school induction camp this weekend.
He undertook to visit Fons Luminis Secondary in Diepkloof, Soweto, where the three alleged perpetrators had already been suspended following the alleged crime at a camp in De Deur, which lies south of Soweto.“Our thoughts are with the girl,” he wrote. “We will provide all the support and care. As for the boys…”
