‘We should be making ourselves the guiding beacon on period poverty and then taking our learning and then applying that internationally. It’s hypocritical to start with a worldwide pledge when they are doing nothing back here.’Girls and women are missing work and school due to period poverty ‘This pledge feels really tokenistic. It’s as if the government are thinking, we know period poverty is becoming a popular issue, it’s an easy quick one for us to jump on.Horrifying images show hundreds of flies in house where body laid undiscovered for 10 days
I honestly feel that the Government won't step in or add significant funds primarily because the Scottish government have done it first. Its pathetic and petty but look who we are trusting to solve the issue..
That’s an interesting quote from PennyMordaunt. Seems to put more emphasis on campaigners and organisations to solve, rather than the Government stepping up with a significant solution themselves? £250k for the U.K. is nothing.
