To my mind, the number one thing that needs to be addressed is the issue of proper voter education. We should look for ways to encourage registered voters to come out to vote. If you check the records, since this political dispensation started in 1999, there is hardly any election that we registered up to 40 per cent of eligible voters.
Managing our diversity as a people has been a major crisis. From your experience as a two-term governor, a minister and now a Senator-elect, what do you think can be done to harness the potential in Nigeria’s diversity? Some have said the feeling of marginalisation and injustice gave rise to agitations for restructuring. What are your thoughts?
Yes, indeed. This is the only way forward to salvaging Nigeria's unity and progress
