Tuition increased 478 per cent in the past 35 years, survey suggests

In 1988, the average amount Canadians spent on university tuition was $1,185, according to Statistics Canada.

Examples of this can be seen in Nova Scotia, with Dalhousie University increasing its tuition by three per cent for domestic students and 7.5 per cent for international students. Dalhousie has a similar fee calculator on its website, but it’s a choose-and-click menu based on what the user’s degree is in.

She said that the financial aid programs that UPEI offers help a large portion of its student population.
