College life is synonymous with being broke and hungry, which is best exemplified by students who have resorted to picking dinner off campus trees.
Students at Stanford University have resorted to picking produce off campus trees to keep from starving. Last winter she said she bought a fruit picker, which dropped her savings down to $9.75, but came in handy when the cafeteria closed down for winter break. Marom is not the only student on campus who has to scavenge to eat. Irán Román,a Ph.D. student from Guanajuato, Mexico, has also turned to university trees for food.
