SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Sex Education officially confirms the identity of Jean's baby, and it shouldn't be surprising for avid viewers of the show. Aside from the people at Moordale Secondary, Sex Education also expands its storytelling by tackling the home life of Otis and other main characters in the series. This allows the show to further humanize them as they navigate their sexual and romantic relationships.
As a sex therapist, Jean supports being open about her intimate life, something that helps Otis become really good at giving advice on the matter. However, her life was turned upside down when she got unexpectedly pregnant. At the end of Sex Education season 3, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. While she was with her boyfriend, Jakob, at that time, the Netflix series made it clear that he wasn't the child's biological father.
This should have already been intriguing, considering that Dan was almost non-existent in Sex Education after his casual relationship with Jean in season 1. In hindsight, bringing him back at that particular moment should have also run alarm bells, because it was a very specific time in Sex Education season 3 to feature him.
Why Dan Being The Father Is Still Shocking At the end of Sex Education season 4, Jean invites Dan into her house, presumably to tell him that he is the biological father of Baby Joy. The show doesn't show how their conversation pans out, but regardless of his reaction, Otis' mom is comfortable raising her daughter on her own. The brilliance of this plot twist, however, lies in its subtle execution.
