Liberal MP Craig Kelly says air conditioning in schools and homes should not be a luxury in Australia, as it is a hot country.

Air conditioning uses a lot of coal-fired power generated electricity, says Mr Kelly, so for a lot of schools cooling systems are a ‘no no’, due to the environmental impact and the running costs. Mr Kelly suggests that instead of spending $75 billion on renewables over the past decade, the country should have spent $1 billion on installing air conditioning for student classrooms.

Craig does your office and home have air conditioning ?

Has he no brain?

So CraigKellyMP let's stop airconditioning parliament

In a sea of idiots, it's some kind of triumph that this buffoon manages to float to the top.

Oh bullshit! Most schools have solar power as well as power from the grid! Our children deserve to learn in comfort, not slums that the Liberal Party has them learning in. By the way, how is fixing the Murray Darling Basin going? VoteNatsLast auspol

A lot of schools have solar and I’m sure they have the roof space for more. Or you can try using the car parks like Flinders, latrobe, usqedu and others are doing.

Fact-Check heat induced slugishness, renders, BRAINS SLOWING DOWN. CHILDREN under the sun-playtime must be cooled off to stop dehydration, death. Either close the schools 11am or shelter them with AC!!!

Craig your not getting any brighter...turn the light out and go....

Has the honourable member considered that air conditioning in schools is used predominantly during daylight hours and is a prime opportunity for renewables energy supply? Didn’t think so.

Not like the fiasco of pink bats but solar panels at schools with a tesla battery, would be an option towards using less of the power from the grid for air conditioning? GladysB ScottMorrisonMP

Preselected on merit yeah?

Craig Kelly defends paedophiles.

And you keep inviting the clusterfxck CraigKellyMP on.

Merit

And they wonder why we go hit things.

Today's generation wasters & consumers of everything - you want sustainable? Go back to the 1950/60's We had to cut the wood to light the fire to cook & heat our homes & air-con was open the louvres on the sleep-out

Then his office and home should not have aircon too. Environmental impact begins in the home

Don't be like Craig. Craig is full of shit.

Sure, let’s take our future generations back to the pre-refrigeration days. While we’re at it, may as well ban all refrigerators from the staff rooms and all heaters for the winter. Let’s see how the teaching and learning standards go.
