'Live or die.'

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Ahsoka episode 5 saw its protagonist learn a lesson Star Wars fans desperately need to hear. Nostalgia has always been baked into the Star Wars franchise. When George Lucas created this fictional galaxy, he deliberately gave everything a worn look and feel, where everything from starships to the Mos Eisley Cantina felt so much more lived in than was typical for sci-fi franchises.

Ahsoka Has Become One Of Star Wars' Most Nostalgic Characters There's a sense in which the character of Ahsoka Tano serves as the perfect illustration of the Star Wars fanbase's overwhelming sense of nostalgia. Originally voiced by Ashley Eckstein, Ahsoka was introduced as Anakin Skywalker's Padawan in the 2008 Star Wars: The Clone Wars movie and the TV show that followed on from it. "From the very beginning where she was hated," Eckstein recalled recently.

It's difficult to say whether the Anakin encountered by Ahsoka was a Force ghost or a hallucination, but it doesn't really matter - the impact on Ahsoka's character is what counts. "Live or die," Anakin tells her. If Ahsoka clings to the past, she will die. It is only by acknowledging and transcending the past, by choosing to be more than her master shaped her to be, that Ahsoka can flourish.
