An organisation working with people with learning disabilities has been successful with grant applications to support people through the cost of living crisis.
Lizzie Winkfield, Training Coordinator, said: “We are delighted with our recent funding successes to provide cost of living support to people and families with learning disabilities. We know that many people with disabilities claim benefits and some may be unable to work and so the cost of living has a big impact on them.“The money management project will be an opportunity for people to learn skills around budgeting, essential and important spending and nonessential spending.
Lucy Hamlin, Managing Director, said: “We are delighted with our recent funding successes as we head towards winter and people’s costs will increase. We had a similar scheme at the beginning of the year and found that people were struggling due to increased energy costs, broken cookers and not having enough to meet their monthly costs.
People with a learning disability, autistic people or anyone caring for someone with learning disability, who live in Hyndburn, and are experiencing financial hardship and struggling to meet short term needs can apply now via the Spring into Action website: www.spring-projects.co.uk
