No matter how much cushion you have, he’s going to gobble it up pretty quick,” Richland football coach Ged Kates said. “He was always fast, but he is really growing as a football player.“He has worked on the nuances of the position. Running down the track is easy for him. Running straight lines, that’s magical. He’s as fast as anybody.

Also on that list is Arlington Seguin senior Cam Cole, who starts at cornerback and plays some running back and slot receiver. He ran 10.52 in the 100 last year, and he used that speed in the season opener to hold Midlothian five-star wide receiver Bryant Wesco — a Clemson pledge who led area 5A players in receiving yards with 1,176 last season — to five catches for 47 yards and no touchdowns in Seguin’s 21-7 win.
