“It is with heavy hearts that we must share distressing news regarding one of our own,” Ulmer wrote. “Max Engle’s condition has rapidly declined and the medical prognosis is not good. Ulmer wrote that the district understands “that this news is difficult to process, and it impacts our entire community deeply.”

Engle was one of several Pa. high school football players who had to be flown from games to the hospital across the Friday-to-Monday weekend slate.
