Doughty is one of the 76 new teachers hired to help educate the Jersey City school district’s 27,000 students for this coming school year.

Ashley Doughty is a new teacher at Frank R. Conwell Middle School in Jersey City. She will be teaching eighth-grade math. Ashley Doughty is proud to say she was born and raised in Jersey City public schools and is preparing to give back to the school district she loves as one of the dozens of new teachers hired.

“I have been here all my life,” Doughty, a 24-year-old mathematics teacher at the Frank Conwell Middle School, said. “My goal with coming back to Jersey City public schools was just to give back to the district that raised me.
