Richard Freeman, who filed the lawsuit late last month in New Jersey federal court, was fired in late June for “allegedly intentionally violating the sexual harassment policy,” according to the suit. Freeman, however, disputes that claim, alleging in the suit that he “had no involvement in planning the event or authorizing the exhibition, and was barely aware of it when he arrived.” The suit notes that there were more than 40 people — whether affiliated with the hospital, its foundation, or RWJBarnabas Health — involved in the planning and approval process.
