That's 14 yrs of school. 2 tests per quarter for 14 yrs equals 112. I find nothing wrong with 2 per quarter after say grade 2. I could see maybe 1 per quarter from pre k to grade 2. Either way it adds up to around 100, so it seems way worse than it is

This needs to be changed, we'd have more kids graduating high school. Then if the tests come back low, the school is punished with an overall bad score.
No longer teaching the basics, reading, writing, math, science, literature, and grammar. No $ for books. Using Google and internet while teachers supervise. Testing is to attempt to rate schools, teachers and students with $ that could provide books and supplies.

It’s a way to dumb down upcoming generations. More time in the classroom is spent preparing kids for these tests than on teaching a well rounded curriculum. If kids can’t pass these tests, teachers don’t get raises, or they could face termination. It’s pay for performance.
American kids are the most tested kids on the planet. Also do more live shooter drills than anyone else.

Tests should measure aptitude and interest. Anything else is used to shame children, teachers and parents. Stop the nonsense. I had the ITBS through grade 8. Once a year was enough. IQ in 9th, PSAT in 10. ACT in 11 and SAT in 12. SAT meant nothing because I took no math in 12.

I didn’t learn a thing from standardized testing. Because of it I was placed in the underperforming groups all through elementary school and all it did was cause stress. I’m now a college grad w/ a bachelors degree. Get rid of it.
What’s the deal with it? I get opposing it but how many people are confused by the concept?
