Ontario med school sees increase in black students after launch of special application process

“Special application”, it’s garbage like this, that cause racial divide in this country! EQUAL OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL! No special treatment.

White privilege? I never had it. I don't get lower interest mortgages, first pick in schools, christ I cant even say I'm proud to be white without being deemed racist. Yet every other single race has a award show or historical week dedicated to them. Good old double standards

So you passed with a C- and you want to be a medical doctor....guess you won’t be treating me...

Black people are the weakest of all human beings... apparently. They continually receive hand outs and other special treatments for a variety of things. Personally, I believe they are equal to everyone else. Treating them as lesser humans isn’t helping to build them up.

Not a fan. I can make an exception for more doctors. Accept all who pass the requirements. We need them all.

Wtf. This is what happened at Harvard when Asian students were pushed aside.

Absolutely shameful that JustinTrudeau and AndrewScheer have been silent on this issue. This is flat out racism and punishes people for having white skin.

Same rules for everyone! No special treatment.

They say there is no quota but - whenever there is a special way, there is the possibility of a quota. We want the best students for doctors, not the blackest.

State sanctioned racism is soooo progressive.

All races should be treated exactly the same, special treatment should never be given to specific races, otherwise that would be racism. We are the land of equal opportunity are we not?

So in short, they identify as a 'black' student while applying.... Seems a little strange, surely all students are accepted based on their academia rather than the color of their skin.... Did they have a policy of refusing black candidates in the past? IdentityPolitics 101

It sounds like a very racist application process.

tl;dr The 'special application process' is meeting the qualification of being born with black skin.
