The Choco Mucho Flying Titans held off Japan's Kansai University, 25-17, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22, for a winning start in the 2023 VTV Cup International Women's Volleyball Tournament in Lao Cai, Vietnam on Saturday, August 19.

Choco Mucho managed to avert a meltdown after failing to sweep Kansai in the third set.

The Sisi Rondina-led Flying Titans even led by six, 16-10, in the fourth frame but the Japanese rallied with a 12-7 attack to pull within one, 22-23.Kansai could not score anymore, though, as Choco Mucho steadied on the defensive end and scored back-to-back for the win.Choco Mucho faces the Vietnam national team 1 next on Sunday, August 20.
