At the second school the SRE classes were scheduled on the last lesson on a Monday so that students who opted out could leave early. Most did. SRE classes, having been legislated many years ago, have always been a major issue in schools and it seems the system is certainly outdated and disruptive in today’s world. If advocates for SRE still want to have these classes perhaps they should have them after school.
